Sie schnurrt und gurrt, flüstert und schmachtet, schreit und schmettert den Blues ins Publikum - Trudy Lynn (*1947, Houston, TX) ist keine, die ihre Gefühle zurück hält.

Mit ihr steht eine der wichtigsten Bluesfrauen in der Tradition von Koko Taylor oder Etta James auf der Bühne. Im Unterschied zu den meisten Bluessängerinnen hat sie das Singen nicht in der Kirche, sondern in der Schule gelernt. Mitte der 60er Jahre startete sie ihre Profikarriere als Sängerin beim grossen Albert Collins. Im Laufe ihrer über 50jährigen Karriere hat sie ihre Stimme etlichen Musikstilen geliehen. Anfänglich Rhythm and Blues, später Country, Soul und Blues. Trudy selber favorisiert ganz klar den Blues. Erst 1989 erschien ihr erstes eigenes Album, mit dem sie ansprechenden Erfolg hatte. Bis heute hat sie neun Alben veröffentlicht und war mehrmals für den Blues Music Award nominiert.
