Das selbstbetitelte Album des Powertrios Grinder Blues ist ein Schuss Adrenalin in das Herz des Genres. “The idea for the music was to stay away from the clichés and rock out,” erklärt dUg. “If we felt like we were heading into any songs that seemed like standard blues lyrically or musically, we made it a point to veer in the opposite direction.”

Die Allianz von Pinnick und den Bihlmans - beides riesige King's X Fans - begann bei einer Grillparty in Hollywood. Das Gespräch ging schnell in Richtung Musikproduktion für Film und Fernsehen, ein Gebiet in dem die mehrfach mit dem Emmy ausgezeichneten Bihlmans hervorragend gedeihen. Die Referenzen reichen von der Großbildleinwand bis zum FX Network Hit Sons Of Anarchy. 

Ursprünglich aus dem nördlichen Indiana, haben Jabo und Scott eine lange Geschichte was Blues und Rock anbelangt. Mit den Bihlman Brothers haben sie als Band 4 Alben aufgenommen, 2 davon wurden vom Grammy-Produzenten Jim Gaines in den legendären Ardent Studios in Memphis zurecht geschnitten. Die Bihlman Brothers standen außerdem mit einer langen Liste an Stars auf der Bühne, von B.B. King über Ted Nugent bis Kid Rock.

Für Jabo und Scott schmälert das die Begeisterung mit dUg in einer Band zu spielen mit Nichten: “it's how an Elvis fan would feel forming a band with Elvis,” meint Jabo. “And the fact that we’re all on the same page is so cool it’s almost unbelievable."

Legendary King’s X frontman Dug Pinnick joins forces with EMMY Award winning blues rockers The Bihlman Bros. for a musical pilgrimage that unites blues and rock in glorious soul revelry known as Grinder Blues.

After collaborating together on production music for film and TV, the songwriting team of Pinnick/Bihlman/Bihlman has expanded the scope of the project into a sonic chef d’oeuvre guaranteed to satisfy the most discerning musical palate!

Dug Pinnick is a revelation on vocals, digging deep into his number one soul brotha vibe. And of course, his signature bony bass tone is as hard core as ever. Scot “Little” Bihlman on drums, percussion, and vox, brings a heavy groove, pushing air through musical genres like a steamboat rolling down the Mississippi. Jabo Bihlman on guitars and vox, brings a heavy tone with surprisingly subtle nuances of traditional blues combined with searing, down and dirty lead work.
