Dirty Fences (US)

Es ist eine Schande, dass es dieser Tage nicht mehr Bands wie die Dirty Fences gibt. Ihr wisst wovon wir reden: Musiker die ihre Instrumente beherrschen, zeitlose Songs schreiben und dabei eine scheißgute Zeit haben. 



Nach dem Release ihrer self-titled EP 2012 über Volcom, droppte das Jahr darauf ihr Debüt-Longplayer „Too High To Kross“, gefolgt vom 2015er Smash Album „Full Tramp“ - und wenn du glaubst Rock'n'Roll wäre tot, dann mach dich drauf gefasst deine Welt auf den Kopf stellen zu lassen. Hier wird früher Amerikanischer Rock und Punk à la Red Kross, MC5, Johnny Thunders, The Ramones und The Stooges heraufbeschwört. 

Ihre erste EP wurde jetzt inklusive 2 neuer Tracks wieder in Vinyl gegossen und bei Dirty Water Records rereleased.



Wenn die Band nicht grade auf Tour ist, stehen die Chancen gut, dass man sie in ihrem Haus in Brooklyn antrifft, komplett mit Proberaum im Keller und einer Quarterpipe im Garten. “If we’re not practicing downstairs we’re writing song, booking a tour or listening to records, we have a tireless work ethic. We don’t have careers; this is what we’re going to do for the rest of our lives and so it has to come first and everything else has to work around the band”, so Sänger/Bassist Max Comaskey. 



Und da sind da noch die Liveshows: eine raue, lärmende Abfolge von Riffexplosionen, Energie und Enthusiasmus, die jede DIY Venue in Kürze in eine Arena transformiert: “It’s a party onstage and we have the entire crowd going completely insane then we’ll bring it down for a minute to get everyone’s attention before we bring it back and knock everyone on the floor again.”

Birdcloud sind Makenzie und Jasmin aus East Nashville und Cottontown. Getroffen haben sie sich erstmals in Murfreesboro, wo sie sich auf Anhieb nicht ausstehen konnten. Bei einer Party im Jahr 2009 tranken sie etwas Whiskey zusammen, wurden Freunde und verfassten ihren ersten Song, ein Lied darüber mit der besten Freundin rumzumachen, mittlerweile im Sand der Zeit verloren. Abgesehen von einem lauwarmen Empfang in Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, sitzen sie seither aufeinander herum, zeigen sich gegenseitig ihre Schrammen und tun was auch immer sie wollen, das funktioniert ganz gut.

Die große Kunst der Reduktion:

BLIND BUTCHER ist ein abstrakt musikalisches Duo aus Luzern (Schweiz) in Glitter-Leggins und einer irritierenden Post Punk Rock Attitüde. Sie bedienen sich seit ihrer Gründung 2010 unerschöpflich an Rock’n’Roll, New- und No Wave, Suicide-Disco, Punk, Blues, Kraut Rock, NDW oder der Country Musik und kreieren so ihren ganz eigenen DISCO TRASH SOUND der einzigartiger nicht sein könnte.

2014 ist ihr Erstling erschienen (produziert von Steve Albini im Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago) und seither spielten sie unzählige Konzerte in der Schweiz und in Europa. Neben BLIND BUTCHER spielen beide noch in diversen Nebenprojekten (Pierre Omer, the Shit, Grey Mole) oder produzieren Film und Theater Musik. „Die Brücke über den Fluss“ (Jadwiga Kowalska 2016) „Undine – Die kleine Meerjungfrau“ am Luzerner Theater (Claudia Brier 2015).

Für Voodoo Rhythm records haben sie das Album „ALAWALAWA“ eingespielt und haben ihren verstand komplett verloren kreieren ein debiles unangepasstes neues Musik Universum, gesungen in Englisch, Deutsch oder Kauderwelsch abwechselnd mit limitierter Wort Wahl, außer bei „ALLES MACHT WEITER“ wo der text von Rolf Dieter Brinkmann stammt BLIND BUTCHER widerspiegeln eine Generation die sich frei gestalten will, ohne Grenzen. So singen sie den Song ALAWALAWA ganz in einer Fantasiesprache, oder bei Staubsaugerbaby einen Nonsens, für Interpretationsspielraum. Musikalisch sind DEVO present oder auch CAN, die deutsche Kraut Rock Legende.

LIVE ist BLIND BUTCHER ein Erlebnis und werfen den Zuschauer von einem Treibenden Beat in einen unerwarteten wechseln der zum schmunzeln verleitet.
