All about the Event
Bring a guitar and, if you like, a pick and tuner.
This workshop is all about chords on the guitar. It is aimed at beginners and slightly advanced players of electric and acoustic guitar who already know a few fingerings and simple accompaniment patterns, as well as singers and people in educational professions who want to learn an accompanying instrument.
Using well-known songs from pop music history, we’ll learn which chord progressions are used particularly often. Just a few chords are enough to accompany others or yourself in any key. Using the examples, we’ll also practice how to play chords cleanly and learn to switch between them quickly.
In the workshop, we’ll work through the basics together, then you’ll be given tools that make it easy to practice systematically at home in a short amount of time, connect things logically, and internalize them.
In Part 2 on 02 December, more advanced techniques will be covered. Participation in both parts is not mandatory.
Simon Paulus studied at the Munich Guitar Institute (MGI) and at the Akademie Deutsche Pop. Over more than 20 years, he has gained plenty of studio, live, and touring experience at home and abroad, including with Zufallstreffer, Blank Manuskript, Sharron Levy, and Karl Kayzer. He has been a guitar teacher for children, teenagers, and adults for over 12 years.
