The Xtra Ordinary Sampler aims to shine a spotlight on artists from Salzburg and the surrounding region by presenting their music in a professional release format.

Each edition captures a snapshot of the local scene: which artists are active, which sounds are emerging and where new creative impulses are coming from. The sampler embraces a wide range of styles, from indie and pop to hip-hop, metal and experimental music, reflecting the diversity of the region without being limited to a single genre.

For many artists, being featured on the sampler is an important opportunity. It increases their visibility, connects them with new audiences and makes them part of a professional release alongside other local acts.

At the same time, the Xtra Ordinary Sampler serves as a living archive of Salzburg’s music scene. Over the years, it has documented new trends, emerging artists and changing sounds, creating a unique record of how the region’s musical landscape continues to evolve.
