All about the Event
At the end of Workshop 1, participants will be provided with a video sequence to score for Workshop 2. We do not need fully produced scores!! Layouts/sketches are completely sufficient; after all, the focus is on the compositional approach, not production standards. The examples submitted by the participants will then be analysed, commented on, and discussed in the workshop. To ensure this, the number of participants is limited. Admission is only granted to those who have submitted an audio sample by 07 January 2027.
Dominik Wallner is an Austrian composer, producer, and musician. Born and raised in the High Tauern, he currently lives in Salzburg, where he also completed his studies at the Mozarteum. Alongside his classical training, he decided to move to Cardiff in 2008, where he studied free improvisation with Huw Warren at the Royal Welsh College and worked on his own compositions. At the center of this work was improvising with prepared piano and electronic tools. The interplay between improvisation and composition in the creative process is the central question of his musical work, which he also developed for healing purposes as part of his music therapy studies at the UdK Berlin. In 2016, he founded the company SOUNDKREDENZ OG together with Manuel Schönegger and has since been creating film music there. As an active musician, he is currently working as a keyboard player and songwriter in the art rock project BLANK MANUSKRIPT. Films featuring his music include "Die beste aller Welten", "Märzengrund", and "Der Fuchs".
