DICHT & ERGREIFEND

The new album by the »Dichtis« is set for release in autumn 2026 and is already causing not just a buzz, but outright outrage. Where some, after years of waiting, fall into each other’s arms in exuberant joy, others throw their hands over their heads in shock.

What’s going on there?

After their trilogy of dialect albums, Dutti & Urkwell are ripping open the fabulous Pandora’s box. Whether this move will inevitably end in the loss of their cult status, or open up new dimensions for them in the triangle of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will become clear once the record starts spinning. From then on, it won’t just be the Lower or Upper Bavarian who can find a new home in the subversive Dichtis irony, but even the East Westphalian or the South North Frisian.

»dicht & ergreifend« are selling their souls to the mainstream and inevitably losing all credibility.

That’s roughly how a headline in the Feuilleton might read, but this interpretation would also be conceivable:
More linguistically powerful than ever: »dicht & ergreifend« transcend language barriers and gain even more force and authenticity in the process.

»Das Zweiländerdreieck« has a few tricks up its sleeve, especially since this is the »Dichtis«’ first concept album and, at the same time, another case of a proper content-laden smack in the face — pardon: a high-German whack to the neck.

Half the songs come in the familiar dialect, the other half in High German. What looks like a loss of identity turns out to be a broadside against blind tradition and, at last, includes those who until now had only nodded along to the beats in approval.

In autumn 2026, the Dichtis jump into the ice-cold water and set off on a big arena tour in Bavaria and Austria. In spring 2027, the intimate club tour in a three-piece set follows, taking them beyond Bavaria’s comfort zone through the north of Germany. Whether they’ll sink or make waves remains to be seen.

If the »bilingual« concept album lands, the Dichtiverse may well expand beyond the Free State as well. If the record flops, they’ll probably be deported from Bavaria without mercy. For anti-local-patriotic adopted Berliners, that would be a win either way — or rather, a freshly mown meadow, eh!

VIVA LA FIELVALT!
