All about the Event
MiA. – that’s optimistic pop music by principle. Carried by frontwoman Mieze Katz and her unmistakable voice as well as her energetic stage presence, the Berlin band has been delivering timeless hits like “Hungriges Herz,” “Tanz der Moleküle” and “Fallschirm” for well over three decades now. Following the near-sold-out “MiA. Live 2026” tour, they’ll be back in spring 2027 with the “Euphorie & Alltag LIVE” tour, adding twelve more dates in Germany and Austria.
MiA. have never known any other way than to keep searching for themselves and finding themselves again and again. Even the radical shifts from CDs and music television to streaming platforms and omnipresent digital marketing have pushed MiA. more toward rethinking things than toward despair. Making things new, learning from mistakes and, when it comes down to it, choosing to believe in the good rather than the worst — that’s the credo of MiA. In that spirit, “Euphorie & Alltag,” the band’s eighth studio album, will be released in October 2026. On it, MiA. weigh up the doubts that are everywhere against restless daydreams, overconfidence and overwhelm, as well as the big picture in the small moments, in both loud and quiet gestures. The song “LOS,” the first single from the new album and thus the first release on their own label EENEMEENE Records (distributed by SONY), is about unconditional anticipation, about being taken by surprise and simply carrying on. And everywhere things move forward, there was and is, of course, also a beginning: originally founded in 1997 as “Me In Affairs,” MiA. launched their career on the Berlin label R.O.T. and with SONY Music. In 2002, the debut album “Hieb und Stichfest” was released, followed in 2004 by the LP “Stille Post,” on which one track in particular would change the lives of all four founding members: with “Hungriges Herz,” MiA. took part in the Eurovision Song Contest pre-selection in 2004 and, from one day to the next, were within reach of a million-strong audience.
“Hungriges Herz” shot straight into the singles charts, and the third album “Zirkus” made it into the Top 5 of the German album charts, just like the two albums that followed, “Willkommen im Club” (2008) and “Tacheles” (2012). The single “Tanz der Moleküle” sold 300,000 copies as a physical release alone. A few years later, “Fallschirm” also landed high in the singles charts and added to the band’s gold and platinum collection. MiA. songs oscillate freely between electropunk, danceable pop and new wave, and are thus repeatedly seen as heirs to the Neue Deutsche Welle. Incidentally, Mieze Katz has been a guest on various TV formats since 2014 as part of the jury and in other roles. In 2025, she appeared on “Sing meinen Song,” before releasing her solo debut “dafür und dagegen” via SONY/Hansa later that same year.
The band’s history also includes numerous shows at renowned festivals such as Highfield, SonneMondSterne, Frequency, Deichbrand, Open Flair, Melt! and Rock am Ring, as well as countless headliner tours. After playing the most heavily attended MiA. tour in over ten years in spring 2026, the band will stop in Germany and Austria once again in 2027 — this time with the new album “Euphorie & Alltag” in tow. The tour is presented by Deutschlandfunk Nova and Rausgegangen.
