All about the Event
In 1985, Reinhard Stranzinger founded his own band, which moves stylistically between hard rock, blues-based guitar lines and lyrics in the local dialect. The third album, “I brauch mein Rock ’n’ Roll,” builds on the experience Stranzinger brought from tours and studio productions with the named groups: arena shows and open airs with EAV, international concert series in the orbit of Supermax, touring structures and festivals with Hubert von Goisern, as well as the subcultural, politically charged live settings of Drahdiwaberl. This foundation feeds into the band’s current work without being mined nostalgically or decorated for effect.
The new songs are written in dialect and deal with personal decisions, biographical developments and concrete everyday situations. Musically, the band is oriented toward clear guitar arrangements, compact rhythms and a production that avoids piling on effects. For the recording, Stranzinger worked with musicians and producers who share his direct approach to rock music and support its focus on playing precision.
Live, the band follows the same approach: no show effects, but a performance attitude that comes from Stranzinger’s decades of stage experience — whether in large halls from the EAV years, on international stages through Supermax, or in those Austrian clubs and festivals where Drahdiwaberl and Goisern shaped different audience spaces. The concerts announced for 2025 build on that and present the new album in a setting where sound, attitude and presence are at the centre.
With this, Stranzinger continues a career made not of image, but of concrete places of work and performance within the Austrian music scenes of recent decades, distilling that experience into a band that plays rock without stylistic packaging and relies on clear musical decisions.
