Mass Culture

Mass Culture, formed in 2011 and after a few changes in the line up, is now a 5 member band. Each member has had its own musical path and identity, but having common components and a wide appreciation for the music of various groups they decided to start up a band combining post hardcore and metal elements. After their 2012 EP “Amoralism” and their 2015 split with Fields of Locust, they released in August 2018 their first full length album "Primal | Ephemeral", with the help of Nothing to Harvest records and Sweetohm recordings. In 2023 the band released their latest full length album “Barren Point”.

Okwaho

Okwaho was formed in 2013. Their sound is a blend of blackened doom, sludge, and post-metal with sociopolitical and occasionally personal lyrics. In September 2015, they recorded their first demo. In March 2018, they released their first self-titled album, which incorporated more stoner elements and featured a handmade cover made of sandpaper. During the period of 2018-2019, Okwaho composed original music for the theatrical performance "Parenticide Club," based on the text by Ambrose Bierce which they performed live during the spring of 2019, emphasizing the atmospheric and political aspects of the work. They are part of the Metal Solidarity assembly and contributed to the first collection of the initiative with the track "Kill All Them Fascists" and the second one with "The Mermaid." They appeared at the 2nd Festival of the initiative alongside nine other bands in October '23. In May 2023, they released "The Usurper Regime," showcasing a more extreme, sharp, and decisive side of their music. It is a highly politicized album lyrically, finding the ideal expression of social rage and protest against fascism, xenophobia, and political repression within the black/post-metal soundscape. Both Okwaho albums have made it to Rob Hammer's list of the top 20 albums of the year. The band has shared the stage with Night Stalker, Nebula (USA), Automaton, Last Rizzla, Saddayah (RO), Godsleep, The Curf, Ancst (GER), Mass Culture, Yovel, among others.

Gjoad
