All about the Event
It could have been a cold winter day or a warm summer night in Finland – but it was around 201. Someone had the idea to combine bluegrass, Finnish folk music, and rock/metal. The result was, and has been ever since, Steve'n'Seagulls. The band you didn’t know you were missing, but now know you absolutely want to hear again. Hailing from Finland in Northern Europe, this cheerful bunch plays harder and faster than ever.
In short: in 2014 the band shot three live music videos on the farm. The second one, their fresh take on the AC/DC classic Thunderstruck, took the internet by storm. Suddenly this flock of gulls found itself on a world tour, recorded an album, and toured harder than ever before.
Since 2014, Steve'n'Seagulls have recorded four studio albums. Their debut album Farm Machine (2015) took the band to 170 shows across Europe and North America. They rocked and put a smile on the faces of audiences, from small clubs to some of Europe’s biggest festivals.
In 2025, the sun will shine its rays on Steve 'n' Seagulls’ long-awaited fifth album – The Dark Side of the Moo!
Recorded and produced with the same crew as the previous album, Steve 'n' Seagulls once again pushed and tore down the boundaries of progressive bluegrass and newgrass. The album combines elements from genres that are hard to imagine together – and yet they meet like old friends shaking hands. Steve 'n' Seagulls’ original songs and a few newly arranged classics once again make for an intriguing musical stew, served up on their The Dark Side of the Moo tour across Europe in 2025.
So far, all four Steve 'n' Seagulls albums have charted in Finland and on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts. Their music videos have racked up nearly 346 million views on YouTube alone. They have played some of the world’s biggest festivals – including Wacken Open Air, Rencontres Trans Musicales, Nova Rock, Sweden Rock and many more – in over 30 countries and across four continents. Audiences, from small clubs to large festivals, have been able to experience their musical adventures and pure fun live. And the gulls keep flying!
