The Mahones (IRE/CAN)

Since their formation on St. Patrick’s Day in 1990, The Mahones have been instrumental in shaping the Irish Punk genre. Often referred to as "Canada's answer to The Pogues," they combine traditional Irish instruments like the tin whistle and accordion with the raw energy of punk rock. Their hit "Sober Has Never Been Any Fun" has long been an anthem of the scene, and their music has featured in Hollywood productions such as the Oscar-winning film The Fighter.
